And then there's the business of the cookies

Yes, making Christmas cookies was another, albeit post-Thankgiving, tradition that Grace embarked on during her Florida turkey trip.

First, we decorate Perkins-style.

Here's Nana Lana with the goods...

Here's the whole clan getting ready to decorate...

And Grace doing the taste test...

And now for the Zayas cookie cook-off - the sugar is already getting to good ole-Grace...

Grandma is getting into it...

But not nearly as much as mommy...

I think we're ready for Cheese-mas!

Thanksgiving Traditions

First and foremost, there's food...

lots of food...

From one grandma to the next, we eat and eat and eat...

Then it's time to decorate Nana Lana's Christmas tree...

And put together early Christmas presents...poor B!

Bring on the toys with thousands of pieces and batteries not included!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Grace celebrated her second turkey day with her "damma" and "dampa" and her "uncle chris" and "aunt tara" and FOUR doggies - "Abbott" and "Brutus" and "Sammy/Sally". Unfortunately, for Grace, however, Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's house is served promptly at 3:00. That meant that if Grace wanted any hope of getting any cabbage & carrot salad or rice & beans, she should have gotten her nap out of the way early. Instead, she chose to go down for her nap at 1:30 and sleep until about 4:00. Which meant...no cabbage & carrots for poor Grace!

Here's the fam (minus Uncle Ray, boo!) having our big, fat feast...

And what feast is complete without delicious desserts?

And there she is - still wiping the sleepies from her eyes, and on the prowl for some turkey...

More Thanksgiving memories to follow...
